Program Notes:
Luna di seta (2012) for alto flute, was inspired by the strikingly beautiful and elusive Luna Moth (actias luna). The form of this piece loosely follows its life as a caterpillar, which must pass through five instars before metamorphosis and maturity. Does the earth-bound caterpillar dream of flight?
Many thanks to Melanie Sorenson and Brian Amer for their artistic support.
